In this documentary, we explore the origins of the Black music scene within Washington DC AKA Chocolate City. We go in depth on the impact that Marvin Gaye's music has left, even years after his passing. Marvin Gaye's trend setting in music created a way for revolutionary music, in particular Rhythm & Blues. From Brother Brother, to What's Going On, Marvin dared to go where other musical artists didn't.

This documentary sheds information on who Marvin Gaye was outside being a musical sensation. We traveled to various places in DC that included:

  • Marvin Gaye Park
  • Marvin Gaye Recreational Center
  • Marvin Gaye Walking Trail

This documentary gives a foundation for us to understand who we are as a people, and also how barrier breaking individuals paved a way, not just only in the music world but also in the real world. Our spirits live forever and we always come back in our spiritual/ancestral realm.
