The History of the Dogon examines the movement of African people into West Africa, starting from ancient times to the 20th century. We also discuss the implications for their philosophical and astronomical knowledge relating back to the Nile Valley. History answers the question "When". As Professor John Henrik Clarke said, "History is a clock that people use to tell their time of day. History is a compass where people find themselves on the map of human geography".
