Pan African Connection – Dallas, Texas

We discussed the issues facing cultural identity. Today there is a powerful conversation centered around the meaning of Foundational Black American and Pan African. These times are very crucial. First, I use the word, “Nebu AfRaKa,” instead of Pan African. Nebu AfRaKa is a truly inclusive word that embraces Africans at home and abroad.

The concept also relates its existence to Nature. Foundational Black American deals with the legacy of Africans whose ancestors came to the colonies and built America’s economic system on the plantations of the north and south.

Educating our children and community for the 21st Century was at the heart of our presentation.

Dock Book Store – Fort Worth, Texas

We purposely analyzed the difference between lynching and hanging. Lynching denies a person the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Hanging was one (1) way Foundational Black Americans were lynched. But miseducating children is also a form of lynching. Placing a person in a deadly chokehold is also a form of lynching. Lynching is not just hanging. In our presentation we discussed some of the main ideas of my books, “Spirituality Before Religions,” “Shabaka’s Stone,” and “Shabaka’s Stone for Children.”

During our workshop we explored the impact that George G. M. James’ book, “Stolen Legacy had on African Cosmology. We also covered ways in which we could bring these topics into our homes and classrooms.

Preparing our Children and Community for the 21st century was emphasized realizing that prophets are not psychics, there just very good historians.
